Tessaro: how to play and strategy

Fit blocks on an 8 × 8 board and clear complete rows and columns. Choose between planning a whole rack and working through an ordered queue.

How to play

Choose Single Piece or Three Piece mode. Drag a piece onto the board, or select a piece and then its destination. Keyboard controls are available beside the board. Check the placement preview before committing.

Rules and progression

Blocks must fit entirely inside empty squares. Filling a row or column clears it; one placement can clear both. In Three Piece mode, use the three available pieces in any order before a new rack arrives.

In Single Piece mode, only the first piece is playable; the other two preview what comes next. The run ends when none of your playable pieces fits. Consecutive clearing moves build a combo, while a move without a clear resets it.

Worked example: change the order, change the outcome

In Three Piece mode, imagine a long bar has no space, but a smaller piece can finish a row. Play the smaller piece first: clearing the row may create the lane the bar needs. Check all three pieces before using an attractive empty area. In Single Piece mode you cannot skip ahead to a helpful preview piece, so protect space for the next shape.

Plan your next move

  • Keep a broad empty region for squares and crosses. Several tiny gaps can contain enough total empty cells while fitting none of the offered shapes.
  • Look for a row and column that one placement can complete together. Their intersection clears with both lines.
  • Use the preview to check the whole shape, including arms extending beyond the cell you selected.

How does Tessaro scoring work?

Each placed block earns 10 points. A cleared line earns 100 points, with extra points for clearing multiple lines in one move. Consecutive clearing moves build a multiplier up to 5×. Pieces keep their orientation, there is no timer, and each mode saves its own best score in this browser when storage is available.
