Boardwalk: how to play and strategy

Your little seaside empire. Build rides, welcome guests, and play the midway.

How to play

Choose Build, select an attraction, choose an empty tile, and confirm. Lay paths to connect the entrance. Select an attraction to upgrade, move, recolor, or sell it. Keyboard arrows choose a tile; Enter selects; Escape cancels. My park lists all attractions.

Rules and progression

Grow an 8 × 8 seaside pier into a 14 × 14 amusement park with eight ride types, four shops, two playable carnival booths, and decorations. Buildings earn only when an adjacent path connects to the entrance. Shops, paths, and decorations improve guest happiness and income.

Upgrade attractions, complete projects, and play basketball or ring toss for coins and collection tickets. Three park collections change the decks and lighting. Income continues for up to two hours while away.

Worked example: diagnose a ride that earns nothing

A ride beside a path is not enough if that path ends in a disconnected island. Follow it back to the entrance, checking every connection. If the entrance cannot reach it, reconnect the path before buying another ride. After moving an attraction, check its adjacent path again; an attractive location still needs access.

Plan your next move

  • Leave room for a connected path network. Filling every empty tile with attractions can make the next addition harder to reach.
  • Use My park to find an attraction to upgrade or move once the pier becomes crowded.
  • Play basketball or ring toss for an active way to earn coins and collection tickets between building projects.
