Sevenfold: how to play and strategy
Three circles. Seven connections. Find words where the rules overlap.
How to play
Play today’s puzzle, revisit Past daily puzzles, or choose a practice puzzle. Tap a space, type a word, and press Enter or the arrow button to check it. Use the question mark for instructions.
Rules and progression
Fill all seven spaces with single English words. Each word must match every circle containing its space and must not match the circles outside it. The center matches all three rules.
Many answers can fit each space. Valid plurals are allowed and can help meet letter-count or letter conditions. Use no spaces, hyphens, or proper names.
Everyone gets the same daily puzzle, changing at midnight Pacific time. Past daily puzzles remain available in the puzzle selector. Answers save on this device.
Three practice puzzles are also available. The dictionary is still growing, so some valid words may be missing.
Worked example: include and exclude rules
For an illustrative puzzle with the rules “an animal,” “five letters,” and “contains R,” TIGER fits the center because it meets all three. KOALA belongs in the animal/five-letter overlap outside the R circle. RABBIT meets animal and contains R, but has six letters, so it belongs outside the five-letter circle. A word can satisfy two rules and still be wrong if it also satisfies a circle that does not contain its space.
Plan your next move
- Translate a space into three checks: which rules must be true, and which must be false?
- Try the most restrictive overlap first. The center requires all three properties; a single-circle space requires one property and excludes two.
- Count letters again after changing a word to its plural. That change can solve one condition while breaking another.
Does each space have only one answer?
No. Many words can satisfy a region. If a plausible word is rejected, check the excluded circles, spelling, and letter count. The dictionary is still growing; report a missing word through Contact Us with the puzzle date, rules, and chosen space.
